Webinars

Eat Smart, Move More SC will host a series of webinars that will feature presentations on a variety of topics aimed at focusing, guiding and assisting local community coalition on improving access to healthy eating and active living.

  • A vibrant movement is afoot in cities across the country − farmers, activists, and community organizations are improving the health, economic outlook, and vitality of their communities through urban farming. Advocates are illustrating that urban agriculture is a pathway to making healthy food more available for low-income communities, a key to shifting economic revitalization efforts, and catalytic for battling the challenges of blight and abandonment.

  • CPPW Technical Assistance Providers and Grantees will offer a range of strategies for sustaining fresh food incentives. These national and local experts will address EBT and double-up food bucks incentives in farmers markets and how these might be better sustained through innovative partnerships, focused promotion, and informed storytelling.

  • The SC Obesity State Plan was created to be a living document intended to optimally pursue three guiding milestones. Since 2005, SC has evolved beyond the blue binder in order to most effectively make progress towards these three guiding milestones. This webinar will serve to provide an update on this journey, the current components of the state plan, how we are monitoring our progress, and what your role is in making the healthy choice the easy choice in South Carolina.

  • On January 27th between 2:00pm and 4:30pm, the Strategic Alliance for Healthy Food and Activity Environments and Latino Health Access will be co-hosting the third and final webinar of the Safe Places to Play webinar series, focused on “Increasing Equitable Opportunities for Physical Activity through Joint Use”. Participate in this webinar to hear from and dialogue with a diverse set of speakers who will share their dynamic experiences in improving-and sustaining- access to safe places for physical activity in urban and rural communities.
