Our climate controlled and specially designed FUN BUS makes its stops at Daycare Centers, Churches, Schools, Homes, Recreational Facilities and anywhere there are Families with children seeking structured Fitness and FUN. It Never moves with children on board!

The SilverSneakers Fitness Program is a comprehensive older adult fitness program that addresses the needs of the Medicare (65+) population. Healthy Palmetto is a collaboration among Palmetto Health and community partners to encourage healthy weight, good nutrition, and physical activity. Healthy Palmetto provides several programs to Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Pickens counties, and surrounding areas residents.

The SC DHEC Diabetes 101 presentation as designed to create a uniformed diabetes awareness education tool to be used in the community. It is a 1.5 to 2 hour community presentation, designed to target the general adult population, which includes:
Information included in the presentation is based on the American Diabetes Association (ADA) clinical recommendations and the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) 7 Self- Care Professional Resource. Participants with Type 2 diabetes are encouraged to attend Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) programs for information and assistance with self-management skills.

Healthy Carolina Farmers Market
The Healthy Carolina Farmers Market is open to the entire Columbia Community. It is a convenient way for USC students, faculty and staff to shop for fresh, healthy, locally grown products. Members of the community, especially those working downtown are encouraged to stop by and do their shopping for produce, meats, cheeses, and novelties from local vendors. The Healthy Carolina Farmers Market is co-sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture and University of South Carolina Student Government.
The Market is held bimonthly and the 2nd and 4thTuesdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Russell House between the gates of Green Steet on the University of South Carolina Campus.

DIVA, Incorporated in dedicated to the self empowerment of girls and young women of the Midlands.
We install confidence and celebrate the talents, diversity and strength of the girls and women in our community. DIVA works in the community to help overcome the barriers of race, class, and educational levels, and the stigma of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
We provide support to assist girls and young women in making informed decisions and positive choices. We enable girls and women with the tools to build a foundation for success through academic achievement, social, cultural and professional development.

Good nutrition, exercise and oral health care are all important in raising a healthy child. The month of February is “Take Heart and Smile” month at EdVenture Children’s Museum. Throughout the month, enjoy special programs that teach kids the importance of having a healthy mouth and a healthy body. Special events include:
• Meet Flo and Mo (EdVenture’s automated health educators) and learn about taking care of your teeth (every Saturday in February)
• Dental Health Fair featuring games, using math, art, reading and science to learn more about keeping your mouth healthy, including a visit from the “Smiles for a Lifetime” puppets and “The Tooth Fairy”

GoodBodies is a weight management program for children and teens that focuses on lifestyle changes. The goal is to educate and encourage daily physical activity and healthy eating practice in participants. Parents are encouraged to play an active role in their child or teen’s participation to achieve maximum benefits.
The GoodBodies program has been providing weight management services to children, teens, and their families in the greater Columbia area for over ten years.
