The Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program is a community-based walking program. This training will prepare you to lead group walks for people with arthritis or anyone who wants to become more physically active. The structured walks are held three times a week for a duration of 6 weeks.
Walk with Ease group sessions include pre-walk discussions about walking safely and other health tips, warm up and cool down exercises, and a 10-35 minute walking period. Walks provide socialization and support to help participants stay motivated and achieve their walking goals.
As a Leader, your responsibilities include: following the Walk With Ease program materials, organizing and leading the walks, keeping track of program records, and acting as a motivational coach for participants.
Who Makes a Good Leader – Those with experience in exercise, a health-related field, or other appropriate backgrounds. CPR certification required before leading a walk.
