SCale Down Program Manager Opening

The South Carolina Institute of Medicine & Public Health (IMPH) is recruiting a program manager for SCale Down, the statewide, multi-stakeholder obesity prevention collaborative facilitated by IMPH in partnership with the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control. The program manager will oversee the ongoing development, implementation and coordination of SCale Down. This collaborative engages senior leaders, researchers, practitioners and community representatives from across the state who are involved in obesity prevention work in communities, worksites, healthcare settings, schools and child care environments.  The focus of this work will be to guide the implementation of the SC Obesity Action Plan and to support the measurement of progress in meeting short- and long-term objectives and achieving key goals.

Candidates should have a master’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant program experience or a bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant program experience.  In addition to a demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental aspects of obesity prevention and history of success in building collaborative partnerships, preferred candidates will have experience in working specifically with SC stakeholders in the field and the ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leaders.  Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication is also preferred.
