Restaurants Fail to Meet Child Nutrition Standards

cspi-kids-meals-2013In a report released by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), researchers found that 97 percent of the meal combinations offered by 41 of the nation’s top 50 fast-food and other restaurant chains do not meet nutrition standards developed by CSPI for calories, fat, sodium, and added sugar. The report also found that 91 percent of the meal combinations do not meet standards set by the National Restaurant Association’s (NRA) Kids LiveWell Program.
