New Letsgosc.org website coming in August!

Healthcare professionals and consumers throughout South Carolina will soon have an improved online resource for finding healthy foods and safe places to be physically active. Coming in August, Eat Smart Move More South Carolina (ESMMSC) will launch an easier-to-use Letsgosc.org website with some new features.

“We’re excited about this new and more user-friendly design,” said Brandie Freeman, communications and marketing manager at ESMMSC. “Users will have a better experience, and they’ll have access to new resources like our Local Events page where they’ll be able to find local things to do that will get them outside and moving.”

Organizations hosting events, such as 5k Run/Walks, cycling events, and festivals, can submit information, links, and images to the website. In turn, ESMMSC will promote the events on Let’s Go SC social media platforms.

Rather than continuing with a searchable map, the new site will feature a Health Directory where users can search for parks, farmers’ markets, trails, and other healthy resources in their community. The directory will provide a better experience and faster search results. Like the Local Events page, organizations can submit new locations through the website, and current location owners can claim their location(s) and update the information as it changes. Images and links will also be an option.

“The new site will provide a great opportunity for residents and visitors to engage with the community,” said Freeman. “Our goal is to help increase awareness of local resources so that they will be more widely used and lead to healthier communities.”

Another new feature of the website is an opportunity for sponsorships. Organizational sponsors can have their logo and link placed anywhere on the site, among other benefits. If you are interested, please contact Beth Franco at 803-667-9810 ext 304 or beth@eatsmartmovemoresc.org.
