Participants must have in interest and focus on increasing access to healthy food in underserved areas.

Feeding Innovation is a small business training program that provides business owners with the framework and skill to develop and grow a small business. Will Culler (Clemson Agricultural Extension), expert facilitators, and a team of mentors will utilize an interactive process to help owners create/update their business plans by: (a) evaluating their business model/strategy, and (b) clarifying their market niche, their pricing structure, and their financial health. Class participants will compete in mid-January by “pitching” their requests for funding to judges. The entrepreneur with the strongest business plan will receive a $12,500 seed capital award.

Both programs are limited to 15 participants. All participants must commit to attending each class as well as the final pitch event on Tuesday, December 12th. Participation requires a $100 reimbursable deposit that will be returned to each participant following the successful completion of the course and final pitch.
