Building Farmacies: A Guide for Implementing a Farmers’ Market at a Community Health Center

Building Farmacies: A Guide for Implementing a Farmers’ Market at a Community Health Center describes an approach for developing a health center-based farmers’ market. The health center-based farmers’ market that is the focus of the manual is the Right Choice, Fresh Start (RCFS) Farmers’ Market, a multi-vendor, produce-only farmers’ market that operates at a federally qualified health center in rural South Carolina. The purpose of the manual is to share experiences in using a community-engaged approach to develop the RCFS farmers’ market, starting with initial conceptualization through the process of sustaining a health center-based market. Lessons learned and tips for future practice are included in the manual.
